Impactor A so called "Impactor" was constructed and adapted for the CARIBIC container. The Impactor samples aerosol particles for post-flight laboratory analysis of the chemical composition of the particles. The instruments are supervised by Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (IFT), Leipzig, Germany.

The impactor is embedded into the 19'' plug in unit "Aerosol 2".
