EUROPE's SOLUTION FOR GLOBAL ATMOSPHERE MONITORING

The CARIBIC Instrument Container:

All equipment, together with power supplies, cooling ducts, smoke detectors, and electronic controllers/data loggers is mounted in a strong frame inside a standard air luggage/freight container which is positioned in the forward cargo bay, behind the bulkhead.

The instrument container is based on a commercial LD11 chassis frame with sandwich floor plate for highest stability constructed by Alcan Singen GmbH, Singen/ Htwl., Germany, modified and adapted for aicraft measurment needs by Enviscope GmbH, Frankfurt (Main), Ger.

The construction as well as the operating is supervised by Max-Planck-Institute for Chemistry, Mainz, Ger.
